Grove Counseling serves the residents of the State of New York in providing mental health care for individuals, couples, and families.  We are a family-owned and operated practice committed to providing personalized and caring service to our clients.  At Grove we take special care to identify your unique and individual mental health needs.  Grove therapists are supported by a team of owners who work diligently with our therapists to provide our clients with the resources necessary to provide the best care possible. At Grove you are not just another number, you are part of a group of individuals who come together to experience caring, hope, and healing.

What experience and credentials do Grove therapists possess?2023-07-28T11:04:40-04:00

Grove therapists are licensed by the New York State Department of Education Office of the Professions. They must possess a master’s degree or higher in the field of mental health counseling and must pass the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).  Prior to providing counseling services at Grove Counseling our therapists must have accumulated a minimum of 3,000 hours of supervised counseling experience.

Grove owners require certified documentation that verifies each counselor can legally practice counseling in the state of New York. Prior to beginning work at Grove Counseling, certification documents provided to us by applicants are verified directly with the New York State Education Department Office of Professions.  In addition, applicant therapists undergo a pre-employment background screening and must be of good moral character.  Applicants undergo a thorough interview and reference check process prior to joining our team. Applicants must have no felony criminal records or professional enforcement actions in their work history.

Each 50-minute session costs $145 dollars.

Grove Counseling is currently private pay provider.  We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is due at the time of service. 

Does Grove Counseling accept insurance?2023-07-28T11:04:38-04:00

Grove counseling is currently a private pay provider. We do not accept insurance at this time, however we are working on adding support for insurance carriers soon.

How will I communicate with my therapist?2023-07-28T11:04:38-04:00

Counseling sessions are held online via your computer, tablet, or mobile device.  All scheduling and administrative concerns may be addressed through the online client portal.  Requests are routed through our reception team and will be addressed within 24-hours during normal business days.

Will my therapist treat what I say as confidential?2023-07-28T11:04:37-04:00

All therapists and employees at Grove Counseling are bound by strict confidentiality rules set by theHealth Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This federal legislation requires providers of health care (including mental health care) to ensure the privacy of patient records and health information. All your information is treated as confidential with the exception of information that could lead to harm of yourself or another identified individual.

Grove uses SimplePractice Electronic Health Record (EHR) services to ensure your information is securely protected. SimplePractice’s EHR security measures cover everything from data privacy to network protection to ensure privacy, confidentiality, and security of health information and has been certified through HITRUST—a third-party assessor that verifies the strictest level of HIPAA compliance. SimplePractice implements multiple layers of bank-level encryption to ensure EHR security standards, like making sure your data is protected while it’s electronically stored or transmitted and that all platform servers are housed in a facility that is protected 24/7, 365 days a year.
